To hold the Son of God in your arms has to be an awesome experience! For Simeon it was indeed the moment of a lifetime as it showed the fulfillment of God’s promise to him and to the world. Simeon’s Moment speaks to the joy and elation that Simeon must have felt at seeing that prophecy fulfilled. As the Michael Card song so beautifully describes in words and this painting so powerfully displays, this is the moment that Simeon had lived his life for. Luke 2:21-35 ARTIST NOTE: In this painting, I tried to let Simeon’s face tell the story. Ecstasy. I have a feeling Simeon clutched that baby like no other. He knew that he held the “light” of the world, which I symbolized by the star emanating from the Baby. Intertwined through them both, I put a map of the world with its obvious symbolism that Christ came to impact the whole world and not just the Jews as many people would have concluded. Those lands, like North and South America, as well as others, were not even known to Simeon’s world, but God knew all along that you and I would need a Savior. Simeon’s tear was put in to reflect deep joy, but the more I contemplated it, the more I realized it could symbolize that Simeon also might have known that this Baby was born to be crucified. That’s why He came.

This mint condition print is professionally matted and/or framed using acid-free, museum quality archival materials in our own custom framing shop. The mats are 100% cotton rag that meets the Library of Congress standard for conservation. The mats are covered with UV light blocking plexi-glass to protect the art from damaging UV light rays. The back of the frame is protected with a dust cover. The original certificate of authenticity is inserted into a pocket that is attached to the back of the frame. The braided picture wire is covered with vinyl and secured into the back of the frame. This print is ready to hang on your wall and comes complete with a recommended hanger. Our frames and matting are hand selected for each piece, we don't bulk buy and force the same frame onto all our prints.
